First Edition of French-German Industry Day on IT-Security on December 8, 2016 in Nancy (inria & CISPA)

The Center for IT-Security, Privacy and Accountability (CISPA) in Saarbruecken and the “Institut national de recherche en informatique et en automatique” (INRIA) in Nancy, France, are inviting companies and entrepreneurs of the Greater Region to their annual Industry Day on IT-Security to present the latest solutions to some of the biggest challenges of IT-Security. Its first edition is taking place on December 8, 2016 in Centre Prouvé in Nancy. Visitors will have the possibility to get to know recent research projects and regional start-ups in the area of IT-Security, and discuss current problems.

Prof. Backes, director of CISPA, claims that “Challenges in IT-Security are cross-border in nature, as must be their solutions.” He will explain his ideas in detail in his talk “Major Challenges of IT-Security – on the Requirement of Cross-Border Collaboration“ (in English).

At the Industry Day, CISPA and their French colleagues will present 20 current research projects. CISPA’s projects will focus on technologies that allow programmers to securely develop apps and web applications more easily. Among others, its researchers will also present software that protects cars from hackers.

Their French colleagues will, for example, show some new approaches on how to detect computer viruses and how to protect computer systems, which control technical processes in industrial plants.
