CISPA is currently in the founding process to join the German Helmholtz Association as a new member. It is consequently undergoing significant organizational changes, which are not yet reflected on this webpage.

Society “Digitale Köpfe e.V.” founded – Michael Backes appointed spokesperson for science and research

In 2014 the GI (the German society for computer science) named Germany’s “Digitale Köpfe” (Digital Minds), a group of experts that already have and will continue to shape technological and societal change in the digital age. The members of this group represent diverse fields of digital challenges and corresponding success stories, including society, culture, industry, politics, science, education and health.

These experts have now founded the society “Digitale Köpfe e.V.” to continue and intensify the dialogue with stakeholders from politics and industry. On January 27 the experts met in Berlin for a first dinner debate with politicians. Head of the society is Christoph Krachten. CISPA Director Michael Backes will act as deputy and spokesperson for science and research.

The aim of the society is to engage in and fuel the discussion on digital change in Germany. The founders’ expertise will allow them raise public awareness of digital challenges, support research and development and privide recommendations for policy makers.

The society will be active in several fields:
